Margrit Gelautz is an associate professor at the Department of Informatics at TU Wien, Austria. She obtained her PhD degree in Telematics from Graz University of Technology, Austria, in 1997. Afterwards, she spent two years as a visiting scholar at the Electrical Engineering Department at Stanford University, USA, supported by a Max-Kade Fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. At TU Wien, she built up a research group on Image and Video Analysis & Synthesis, with a focus on 3D reconstruction and algorithms for stereo analysis, image segmentation, motion analysis and related applications. She was director of the Doctoral College Computational Perception at TU Wien from 2010 to 2013, vice chair of IEEE Austria Section from 2012 to 2014, and co-founder of the spin-off company emotion3D. Her current research interests focus on autonomous driving applications and motion studies in the field of robotics.
