Mobile devices have become widely used in everyday life. The quality of generated content on mobile devices can positively affect attractivity, usability, and efficiency of mobile applications. Many applications involve image synthesis from 3D data. Global illumination rendering algorithms increase the quality of the synthesized image. Therefore, global illumination is beneficial for mobile applications which involve rendering.
Many global illumination algorithms were presented in the past researches. The goal of this thesis is to implement one of these algorithms on a mobile device. Additionally, the algorithm can be improved to achieve faster performance. Moreover, the implemented algorithm can be applied in augmented reality or other application scenario. The implementation will use OpenGL. The speedup of the algorithm can be achieved by CUDA or OpenCL implementation.
