About This Topic
3D content creation is receiving significant attention in computer graphics research and industry. In recent years, different methods, paradigms, and interaction metaphors were presented to address the problem of 3D content creation.
One of the most natural metaphors for shape description is by human hands. Recent advancements in virtual reality allow this metaphor to be used to create, modify, and explore 3D digital content. The main goal of this thesis will be to develop a virtual reality system for 3D shape creation by human hands. Technologies like HTC Vive, Leap Motion, and Unreal Engine will be used to achieve this goal. Additionally, several drawing tools, geometry processing algorithms, and interaction metaphors will be developed during the work on this master thesis.
