3D Interaction in an Ambient Mixed Reality Environment

Bachelor Thesis or Practicum

About This Topic

To enable mobile 3D interaction in an ambient mixed reality (MR) environment, the 3D orientation data of a mobile device is sent over WIFI to a workstation. The network component on the workstation sends the tracking data into the Game Engine Unity3D, where the current 3D orientation is displayed and concurrently updated. A standard screen acts as output device to create the ambient display scenario. As input device, a state of the art mobile device running Android is used.

Prototype code for 3DOF orientation tracking and Wifi connection will be provided for re-usage.

SDKs/Platforms: Android, Windows, Unity, ..

Programming: Java/C++ an Android side, C++ and C# (Unity) on workstation
