Evaluation of an AR controller with objective quality measurements

Bachelor Thesis or Practicum

About This Topic

The aim of the project is to build a system which can measure objective quality parameters of an IMU enabled controller with available technological tools. Financial compensation is available for this topic.

There are three main parts to measure objective quality parameters.

1. System latency: The end-to-end latency from movements of the controller to change of movement in the DAQRI Smart Glasses. And also tracking and response latency of the DAQRI controller should be measured.

2. Controller Tracking Delay/Accuracy: Robot arm control to have repeatable and controlled movements of the controller. A sample project will be given to control the robot movement to the target position. The student needs to implement to collect movements of the controller relative to the controlled robot movement.

3. Eye Tracking and Controller Gaze Accuracy: Pupil Lab’s eye tracker to measure users' attention and usage of the DAQRI controller.

We are looking for a highly motivated student who has a solid background in programming and computer graphics and is enthusiastic about new technologies.

SDKs/Platforms: Unity3D, VRTrek SDK, DAQRI SDK

Programming: C#, Unity3D

Hardware: DAQRI Smart Glasses and its controller, VRTrek, Pupil Lab’s Eye Tracker, Robot Arm
