MoveOnPC - Supporting the PlayStation Move controller on the PC

Lab project in the area of Virtual and Augmented Reality.

Keywords: Playstation Move Controller, 3D Input, OpenCV, Sensor Fusion.

About this Project

In October/September 2010 Sony released the PlayStation Move – a motion-sensing game controller for the PlayStation 3. The Move controller is an excellent input device which can be used for very accurate input but all software development for PC support has to be done from scratch.

Additional Information

Within this project we develop the cross-platform psmove API to acquire 3D positions of multiple PS Move Motion Controllers in real-time. Sensor fusion is performed to improve tracking accuracy. The camera to be used is a PS Eye camera, however our library can flexibly be used in combination with any other camera after calibration (FoV, etc..). Two spheres can be detected simultaneously and correctly mapped to 3D coordinates.
