TU Fly Into the Future

Lab project in the area of Media Processing.

Keywords: Virtual Reality, Immersion, Virtual Flying, Immersive Virtual Reality, Virtual Space Walk, Virtual Diving.

About this Project

The focus of this project is real flying through virtual worlds, where the applications are not just bird flight, but as well diving along virtual coral reefs, traveling through space and traversing materials that normally cannot penetrated. The successful project requires a mechanical unit that extends the existing jump infrastructure by hand-and-feet-controlled flight as well as an extended virtual reality creation and perception environment (based on Unity3D, Oculus Rift and full body motion capturing).
